Shear
pins can be furnished for NRG drive sprockets
to protect the system from overload. Standard NRG shear pins are made
from 1018 cold drawn steel and are necked down to various diameters
which have corresponding torque ranges. Based on calculations
or the preferred trial and error method, the ideal shear pin can be
determined for your system. When tank loads exceed the normal operating
range, the shear pin will break and allow the drive sprocket and hub
to disengage before any collector components are damaged. Standard
shear pins range from 0.08 inch necked down diameter to 0.13, although
other sizes are also available. Shear pins also feature a roll pin
which keeps the necked down diameter at the shear point between the
drive sprocket assembly hubs. NRG shear pins can also be furnished
with retainer rings. Shear pins are also available in Aluminum and
Nylon if necessary. Contact your
local NRG representative for more information. |
